AUGUST 2021 THINGS…

I’m loving Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore moisturizer. It is designed to restore the skin’s external barrier and support self repair. I found it to be majorly nourishing and hydrating. It will help to even out and improve overall radiance. It’s lightweight and fast absorbing.

I’m protecting my body at the beach with Neutrogena’s Invisible Daily Defense Lotion SPF 60+. I love the texture and smell of this sunscreen. It’s hydrating and formulated with antioxidants. It is quick drying and lightweight.

My new serum is StriVectin’s Super C Retinol Brighten & Correct Vitamin C Serum. I love the concept of a Vitamin C and a Retinol in one product. This lightweight serum brightens and firms skin, while smoothing fine lines and improving texture. It’s not sticky at all, and absorbs fast. It is perfect for layering under a moisturizer and makeup.

JULY BEAUTY NEWBIES….

I’ve added some additions to my beauty vanity this month. Summer means skins, and here’s how I’m taking care of mine;

At night I’m washing my face with Peter Thomas Roth’s 3% Glycolic Solutions Cleanser. It is anti-aging & exfoliating. It removes my makeup and any excess oil. The Glycolic Acid shrinks pores, improves clarity and reduces fine lines. 

For day and night Eye Cream I’m using Park Perfection’s 2 in 1 Instant Eye Lift. It’s designed to tighten and lift the eye skin while reducing wrinkles and puffiness. It uses minerals, peptides and antioxidants to balance and enhance skin around the eye. 

I was overdue for a new foundation brush. I am very happy with NYX Cosmetics Total Control Drop Foundation Brush. It’s designed for liquid but i’ve used it with my powders as well. It blends perfectly. I love that is it angled to get around every curve of your face. 

I am obsessed with Macadamia Professional Nourishing Repair Oil Spray. It’s officially summer, which means I’m not drying my hair. I let it air dray and then add this spray for a finished look. It has an ultra fine spray and instantly adds shine, moisture, softness, and uv protection. It says to use on wet hair, but I’ve been using it on both wet and dry.

Skintensive is a skincare line created by two Harvard trained dermatologists. It uses natural, ethically produced ingredients for results you can see. The formulas are designed form maturing skin, but of course work on all types. They believe “nature is our inspiration and science is our guide”.  I have been using the Bruise & Scar Cream. It is designed to help with bruises and scars especially post procedure. The power ingredients are Arnica Montana (anti-inflammatory), Vitamin K (bruise healling/collagen forming), Coconut Oil(anti inflammatory/hydrating/soothing)and Vitamin E.  I have been testing it on a scar and it has definitely sped up the healing time. So get intense on your scars with Skintensive, because no one needs to know you had a procedure or are just a clutz ;)…

BEING BASIC…

The line is sold exclusively online, direct to consumers, in order to offer the highest quality at the best price. The line is like a chic french apothecary meets the Ordinary….but better. “Our philosophy is not to add anything to our products to make them stand out; instead we pare them back and distil each formula down to the most-essential, natural active ingredients.” The line is natural and sourced from sustainable farms using gentle extraction techniques. I will touch on a few of my faves from the line, but I strongly suggest checking out all they have to offer on their site. The 7 Ingredient Micellar Water quickly removes makeup and grime. I use the Hydrolate Organic Orange Blossom, which is a gentle essence that revives tired skin. Next I use the Antioxidant Serum 3% Ferulic Acid + 3% Resveratrol, to firm skin and fight aging. I wait a minute or two and follow with the Radiance Serum 11% Vitamin C, to increase radiance. One of my favorite’s in the line is the Eye Serum 5% Caffeine + 5% Niacinamide. It’s a circulation boosting eye serum that fights dark circles. It’s extremely lightweight and absorbs instantly. I’m somewhat obsessed with the Radiance Night Serum Botanical Blend with White Rose. Rolling into 2021…

with some new faves. Lets start with skincare. I’m loving Algenist Skincare’s AA Barrier Serum. This antioxidant rich serum is designed to defent the skin barrier against pollutants and environmental aggressors. It uses Alguronic Acid, Niacinamide, Phloretin, and Ergothioneine. It improves skins appearance and uneveness. I love the texture of it. It feels luxurious and absorbs well.

My new makeup finds start with a cult favorite foundation. I now understand why Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Foundation is so popular. This 24 hour wear, full coverage, Matte foundation really delivers. It leaves skin looking fresh and flawless yet somehow remains lightweight on the skin. It is heat resistant, and waterproof. There are over 55 shades to choose from.

Taking things to the ever important brows. For the last few years I’ve stuck with NYX’s micro brow pencil. I think it’s better than its expensive competitors. I’m now following it with their Control Freak Eyebrow Gel. It is a clear gel that tames brows and gives a fuller effect. It’s not sticky and stays comfortable all day. So play with some new finds for 2021, I won’t tell last year’s products you’re cheating 😉
